Mecab is a morphological analyzer for the Japanese language created by Taku Kudo. It allows users to input Japanese text and automatically parse it into words and symbols while annotating various metadata to them such as a word’s part of speech, lemma form, origin and reading. The parser was made free and open source and is also historically significant in the field of natural language processing (see Wikipedia).
This website serves as a user-friendly interface for those who are interested in experimenting with Mecab, but may not speak Japanese or be comfortable with installing Mecab on their computer.
